What is Vice City in GTA 6?

Vice City is the main city of Grand Theft Auto VI and the urban center of Leonida, the fictional state where the game is set. It first appeared in Trailer 1 on December 4, 2023. Rockstar’s official page pitches it as a beach metropolis that runs on money and appetite, four decades after the era of the 2002 game.

The name comes from Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, released in 2002 and set in 1986. The GTA 6 version is a different beast. Rockstar’s two-word summary on its site is “Everything in Excess”, and the official screenshots back it up with cruise ships, flea markets, strip clubs and beach crowds. Where is Vice City on the Leonida map?

Rockstar has not published a map of Leonida, so nobody can place Vice City with certainty. The official material only shows that it sits on the ocean, with a beachfront and a cruise port. Fan maps built from trailer frames put it on the southeast coast, with the Leonida Keys below it. That layout copies Florida and remains unconfirmed.

Distances between the city and the other regions are guesswork until Rockstar ships the map. Grassrivers, Ambrosia, Port Gellhorn and Mount Kalaga National Park each have their own page, and each is just as unplaced.

Which Vice City neighborhoods has Rockstar named?

Four, per the official Grand Theft Auto VI site. They are Ocean Beach, Little Cuba, the Tisha-Wocka flea market and VC Port. Each gets a single line of description and nothing else, no boundaries, no landmarks, no map pin. Every other district name circulating online comes from fan maps or trailer freeze-frames, and Rockstar has not used any of them.

What can you do in Vice City?

Rockstar has not published any mission or activity list for Vice City. The trailers show the mood instead, with beach crowds, a strip club, dirt bikes pulling wheelies on public roads and a neon skyline at night. According to Engadget, the August 2026 gameplay video adds club visits, BASE jumping and boarding a private plane.

Which characters are tied to Vice City?

Three of the eight characters on Rockstar’s site belong to Vice City. Boobie Ike built a legal empire there, Dre’Quan Priest runs the Only Raw Records label with him, and the Real Dimez duo just signed to it. Raul Bautista has no stated base. Jason and Lucia arrive from the Keys and Liberty City, and their profiles cover the rest.

What real place is Vice City based on?

Miami, by every visible sign, though Rockstar has never said the word. Ocean Beach lines up with South Beach’s art deco strip and Little Cuba with Little Havana. VC Port echoes PortMiami, one of the busiest cruise ports on the planet. The 2002 game used the same template, so the parallel is an old one. It stays an observation.
