What GTA 6 editions can you buy?

GTA 6 ships in two editions on November 19, 2026. The Standard Edition costs $79.99 and comes as a digital download or a code in a box. The Ultimate Edition costs $99.99, is digital only, and bundles exclusive vehicles, weapons, shops and outfits on top of the full game. Both run on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Take-Two confirmed both prices in its June 24, 2026 press release, the day before pre-orders opened. There is no middle tier, no season pass, and no “deluxe” version sitting between the two. That keeps the decision simple. You pay $20 more for the Ultimate content, or you don’t.

Pre-orders opened at midnight local time on June 25, 2026. Rockstar’s own edition page pitches the Ultimate Edition as bonus items you meet as the story unfolds, and GameSpot reports new ones unlock chapter by chapter. The two leads have their own pages at Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos.

What does the GTA 6 Ultimate Edition include?

The Ultimate Edition adds 16 named bonuses on Rockstar’s edition page. You get three vehicles plus Jason’s safehouse rides, a pair of matching revolvers and personalized weapon variants. You also get two clothing sets, six exclusive shops across Leonida, a truck mod kit and a classic car restoration activity. Everything is in-game content. Nothing physical ships with it.

GameSpot reports the tattoo parlor carries more than 50 designs by the artist collective FAILE. The Classic Car Collection, per the same report, sends you restoring abandoned cars for a fixer named Wyman. Rockstar has not said whether any of these shops or vehicles will be sold separately after launch. The physical merchandise lives elsewhere, in the Vice City Collection box.

What is in the Vintage Vice City Pack?

The Vintage Vice City Pack is the pre-order bonus for both editions. According to GameSpot, it includes a ‘55 Vapid Stanier sedan and a personal garage at Shore Court with a weapons locker. It adds outfits and hairstyles for Jason and Lucia, and a palm-tree weapon pattern borrowed from Tommy Vercetti’s shirt. You get it with any purchase made before November 20, 2026.

Take-Two’s press release sets the rule in one line. Every pre-order and every purchase before November 20, 2026 includes the pack. That covers launch day itself, so you don’t have to pre-order to get it. For boxed copies, Rockstar ties the bonus to stock, so it lasts while supplies last.

GameSpot compares the Stanier to a Ford Crown Victoria, the sedan American cities use as a cab. The outfits are period-flavored, with a linen suit for Jason and a red sequin mini dress for Lucia. Rockstar’s edition page names the pack without itemizing it, so treat those specifics as press reporting rather than official spec.

Should you buy GTA 6 physical or digital?

There is no disc. Take-Two confirmed that the physical version of GTA 6 contains a download code inside the box. Boxed copies ship from November 12, 2026 so you can pre-load in time for launch. If you want the Ultimate Edition, digital is your only option, because Rockstar sells it as a download only.

That changes the usual physical-versus-digital math. A boxed Standard Edition gives you a case, a code and a shelf trophy. It does not give you a resellable disc or an offline install. Your PS5 or Xbox still downloads the full game either way.

The upside of the box is the retailer. Stores set their own promotions on the code-in-box Standard Edition, while the console storefronts sell at list price. As of August 2026, GamesRadar+ found no US discount on the box itself. The upside of digital is the free month of GTA+, which Take-Two ties to digital pre-orders.

The full game download size has not been announced. Rockstar’s site does carry a “Plays best on PlayStation 5” badge, a marketing label rather than a technical spec.

Where can you pre-order GTA 6?

You can pre-order GTA 6 on the PlayStation Store, the Microsoft Store, the Rockstar Games Store and at major retailers. Take-Two names those four channels directly. The console storefronts sell both editions. Retailers such as Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, GameStop and Target sell the Standard Edition as a code in a box, according to GamesRadar+.

Is the GTA 6 Ultimate Edition worth the extra $20?

The Ultimate Edition is worth it if you care about cosmetic and vehicle options from hour one. It adds at least five vehicles, six exclusive shops and a car restoration activity for $20, roughly the price of a single DLC car pack in other games. It is not worth it if you only want the story and plan to earn your rides in-game.

Nothing in the Ultimate Edition is required to finish the campaign. Rockstar has not tied any story mission or ending to the bonus content. The revolvers and the pistols are variants, and the shops are extra retail locations rather than gated districts of Vice City.

The one real risk is the digital-only format. If you prefer a box, the Ultimate Edition takes that choice away. The other unknown is post-launch availability. Rockstar has not said whether Ultimate content will be sold as a standalone upgrade later, so a Standard buyer may or may not get a second chance.

Is the $399.99 Vice City Collection a GTA 6 edition?

No. The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection is a $399.99 collector’s box that does not include the game. Rockstar opened pre-orders on September 24, 2026, while supplies last. It is a merchandise set inspired by the in-game show Macca the Gator, sold separately from both editions of the game.

If you are budgeting, the maximum Rockstar-branded spend at launch is $499.98 for the Ultimate Edition plus the box. The minimum is $79.99. Everything between those two numbers is a matter of taste, and Leonida has a shop for every taste.
