Port Gellhorn is a beach town in Leonida that the tourists stopped visiting. Rockstar’s page describes what they left behind, a resort strip running on fumes, and a replacement economy built on pills, malt liquor and gas-station energy drinks. Dirt bikes are the local transport. It is the state’s hangover, and Rockstar sells it as such.
Rockstar introduced Port Gellhorn on May 6, 2025, when Trailer 2 came out, on the official site’s regional pages. The page calls the place “Leonida’s forgotten coast”, which is the closest thing to a location Rockstar gives. Our Leonida hub shows how it sits next to Vice City and the four other regions.
The official text closes by pairing dirt bikes with a warning about your money. Both halves say something about the place. The bikes suggest open ground and beach roads. The money warning suggests the locals have found other ways to make rent.
Where is Port Gellhorn on the Leonida map?
Nowhere official. Rockstar has released no map and gives Port Gellhorn no compass direction. The description says coast and the name says port, so the town sits on the water. The rest is inference. Fans usually draw it far from Vice City, on a quieter shore, because a resort nobody visits implies distance from the money.
Which coast, north, west or elsewhere, is anyone’s guess. Fan maps disagree with each other, which tells you how solid they are. We will update this section when Rockstar publishes the map.
What can you do in Port Gellhorn?
Dirt bikes are the one thing Rockstar attaches to Port Gellhorn by name, and even that is a mood line rather than a feature. Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos travel the whole state during the story, so a stop here is likely, and that is as far as the facts go.

What real place is Port Gellhorn based on?
Rockstar has not named a model. The most common comparison is Florida’s Panhandle, the Gulf Coast strip around Panama City Beach, where older resort towns show their age between the newer condos. Leonida borrows from Florida everywhere else, so the parallel holds up, but it is an observation from fans and press, and Rockstar has not endorsed it.
The name adds a possible literary layer. Martha Gellhorn was a celebrated war correspondent who met Ernest Hemingway in Key West, Florida, and became his third wife. Rockstar has never commented on the name, so file that under educated guess.
